Editorial Guidelines

BossDown exists to answer one question well: how do I actually get past this part of the game? A guide is only worth reading if it is accurate, so here is exactly how we research, write, check, and maintain everything we publish. If we ever fall short of this, tell us and we will fix it.

Research Comes First, Always

We do not write a guide from memory. Before a word is drafted, we gather information from multiple sources for that specific game: official patch notes and developer posts, the game's own data, established community wikis, and hands-on testing and player reports. Where sources disagree, we dig until we can resolve it or we tell you it is unsettled. We never copy another site's content; everything is written from scratch in our own words.

We Cross-Check the Details

Game guides live and die on specifics — a boss's weakness, a build's numbers, an item's location. We verify those details against more than one source before we publish, and we prefer official or first-party data when it exists. For anything we cannot confirm, we say so plainly rather than guess.

We Are Honest About Uncertainty

Some games are brand new, in early access, or not even released yet when readers start searching. In those cases we draw a clear line between what is confirmed and what is still changing. If a tier list reflects an early, shifting meta, we say so and date it. If a detail comes from a previous version of a game, we flag it. We would rather tell you "this isn't confirmed yet" than present a guess as fact.

We Keep Guides Updated

Games change. Patches rebalance builds, expansions add content, and launch-day details get confirmed. When that happens, we revise the affected guides and mark them with an updated date so you know you are reading the current version, not a snapshot from launch week.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and we want to know when we do. If you spot an error, email us at hello@bossdown.com with the guide title and the problem. We review every correction, fix what is wrong, and update the guide's date when we make a substantive change.

Independence

Our guide content is not for sale. Coverage decisions are based on what players are actually searching for and stuck on — not on payments or partnerships. The site is supported by advertising, which is kept separate from our editorial choices, and we label any sponsored or affiliate content where it appears.
