Gothic 1 Remake: All Skill Trainers and Teacher Locations
Where to find every skill trainer in Gothic 1 Remake and what they charge. One-handed, bow, magic, and stat training, with the camp each teacher sits in and the Learning Points and ore they cost, so you stop hoarding LP and start spending it right.
Learning Points do nothing until you find a trainer
Here is the trap new players fall into. You level up, you see Learning Points pile up in your character sheet, and you assume you are getting stronger. You are not. LP sits there as potential and nothing else. You only convert it into real power by walking up to a specific person, in a specific place, who teaches the thing you want and usually charges ore for it.
So the map of who teaches what, where they stand, and how much they take is one of the most useful things to have early. I have laid out the trainers worth knowing below, grouped by what they do. If you have not sorted out your build yet, read the best builds guide first, because there is no respec in this game and every point you spend is permanent.
Stat trainers (Strength, Dexterity, Mana)
These raise your raw attributes, which is what keeps the better weapons and spells in reach.
- Diego sits near the castle entrance inside the Old Camp. He is your first and most reliable stop for Strength and Dexterity. A single point costs 1 LP, and buying in larger chunks scales up from there. He is available very early, so he is where most of your opening LP should go.
- Cronos stands by the ore pile area in the New Camp and trains Mana. If you are leaning toward a Water magic or spellblade build, this is your man.
- Gor Na Toth is the one-stop option that can train Strength, Dexterity, and Mana from a single trainer, which suits hybrid characters who do not want to run between camps.
One thing to know: trainers stop teaching Strength and Dexterity once you climb to roughly 100 points naturally, so plan to use permanent potions for anything past that. I cover that ceiling and how to get around it in the Strength, Dexterity, and Mana guide.
One-handed and two-handed trainers
- Scatty runs the battle arena and teaches one-handed weapons. Expect roughly 10 LP plus 50 ore for the trained tier and 20 LP plus 200 ore to reach master. Mastery is not cosmetic. It changes how your hits land, so it is worth the ore.
- Weapon mastery should usually come before you pump your primary stat. The mastery improves every swing immediately, while the stat just keeps the next weapon in reach. The leveling and skills guide walks through that order in detail.
Bow and crossbow trainers
For a Dexterity archer, ranged mastery is the spine of the build.
- Wolf teaches the bow from the living cave area in the New Camp, around 10 LP plus 50 ore.
- Cavalorn also trains the bow and is handy because he camps out on the road between the Old and New Camps, so you can train without committing to a faction yet. Same ballpark cost, near 10 LP plus 50 ore.
Hitting a moving target under pressure is a skill the game actually tests, so do not sleep on ranged training even if you plan to fight mostly in melee.
Magic and faction-gated trainers
Some teachers will not work with you until you have sworn into their camp.
- Cor Angar trains at the upper training ground in the Swamp Camp, but he only teaches you once you have earned Templar status with the Sect. The Swamp path caps your magic at the fourth circle, which matters if you want to go full mage.
- Fire and Water magic trainers live in the Old Camp and New Camp respectively, and both paths can climb to the sixth circle. The factions breakdown explains how each camp gates its magic, and the magic system guide covers the circles and spell unlocks.
How to actually budget your training
The pattern that works:
- Spend early LP on Diego for the stat your build needs. Cheap, immediate, always available.
- Buy your weapon mastery before chasing higher stats. It pays off on every hit from the moment you learn it.
- Keep an ore income running so you can afford the master tiers when they open up. Training drains ore fast, and the ore farming guide shows how to bank over a thousand nuggets in your first couple of hours.
Do your trainer runs around a camp before you join it where you can, because a few sessions of free wandering puts you ahead of most players at the same point in the story. Once you commit to a faction, some teachers close off and others open up, so the order you do this in genuinely matters.
Trainer costs and exact placements are drawn from post-launch hands-on coverage of the 2026 remake. A few teachers move or open up only after story milestones, so if someone is missing from a camp, check whether you have hit the faction or chapter gate that unlocks them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you spend Learning Points in Gothic 1 Remake?
Learning Points are only spent at trainers, not in a menu. Each trainer sits in a specific camp or out in the world, and most also charge ore on top of the LP. Diego near the Old Camp castle entrance handles early Strength and Dexterity; weapon and magic trainers live in their respective camps.
How much does training cost in Gothic 1 Remake?
Stat points from Diego start at 1 LP for a single point and scale up. Weapon mastery is the big spend: one-handed training with Scatty runs about 10 LP plus 50 ore for the trained tier and 20 LP plus 200 ore to master it. Always carry enough ore before you walk up to a trainer.
Is there a trainer that teaches Strength, Dexterity, and Mana together?
Gor Na Toth can train all three from one spot, which is convenient for hybrid builds. For most players though, Diego covers early Strength and Dexterity, and Cronos in the New Camp handles Mana.
