Forza Horizon 6 Series 2 Treasure Hunt: Nangan Region Location (Summer Week)

Where to find the Forza Horizon 6 Series 2 Summer treasure hunt chest in the Nangan Region, how to decode the photo clue, the fastest route to the box, and the credit and Festival Playlist point reward.

·

The treasure hunt is the slowest activity on the Festival Playlist because the game gives you a vague photo and expects you to figure out the rest. For the Series 2 Horizon Decades Summer week, the chest is hidden in the Nangan Region, and the good news is this one is easy once you know where to look. No cliff scaling, no hidden ramps. The box is sitting in the open on a beach.

Here is how to decode the clue and get there fast.

Decoding the photo clue

Like every treasure hunt, this starts with a Festival Playlist objective that hands you a single photo. The Series 2 Summer photo shows the colorful Horizon treasure box resting on sand near the water, with the coastline curving away behind it. That tells you two things right away: it is on a beach, and it is in a region with a long stretch of coast.

That region is Nangan, which sits to the southwest of Tokyo City on the map. If you are still learning where the regions are, my Japan map guide breaks down the layout. Once you know it is Nangan and it is coastal, you have narrowed a huge map down to one stretch of beach.

The fastest route to the chest

You do not have to comb the whole shoreline. The chest is on the southeast side of the Nangan Region, near a U-shaped bend in the coastal road.

  1. Open the map and fast travel to the nearest point in or near the Nangan Region. Anything that drops you on the southwest side of the map works.
  2. Pick a car you do not mind taking off-road, the beach approach is sand, not tarmac.
  3. Head toward the southeast of the region and find the coastal road that loops in a U-shape.
  4. As that road reaches its bend, get off it and head straight for the beach.
  5. The treasure box is lying in the open on the sand. Drive through it to smash it.

If you would rather find it the fun way, just run the full Nangan coastline from the very south and work your way up. The box overlooks the water, so keep the sea on one side and your eyes on the sand.

What you get for it

Smashing the chest pays out two things:

  • 100,000 credits, which is a solid chunk toward a new car or upgrades. For more ways to stack credits fast, see the credits guide.
  • 3 Festival Playlist points, which feed both your Summer season total and the series-wide totals.

Those 3 points matter more than they look. In Summer you need 20 points for the 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf and 40 for the 1988 Lamborghini Countach. The treasure hunt is a clean, no-racing way to pick up a third of the way to that first car. For the full list of what those points unlock, check the Series 2 reward cars guide.

Beat the clock

The Summer season runs June 18 to June 25, 2026. When Autumn rolls over on Thursday June 25, the Nangan hunt leaves the Playlist along with the Summer cars. Treasure hunts do not carry over, so if you have not smashed this chest yet, do it before the rollover.

If you are unlocking the hunt itself, remember it appears as a Festival Playlist objective first. You may need to complete a short prerequisite step in the Playlist before the photo clue and the chest become active in the world. Once it is live, the directions above get you there in a couple of minutes.

Treasure hunts vs treasure cars

Worth clearing up a common mix-up: a treasure hunt is a weekly Playlist chest that rewards credits and points. That is different from the permanent treasure cars scattered across the map, which are tied to barn-find style hunts and stay available all the time. If you are after those, my treasure car locations guide covers all of them.

Quick answers

Do I need to complete a challenge before the chest appears? Usually yes. The treasure hunt shows up as a Playlist objective, and you may have to clear a quick step before the photo clue and the chest go live. After that, follow the route above.

Is the chest hard to reach? No. This is one of the easier hunts in the game. The box is out in the open on a beach, no platforming or trick driving needed. Just get to the southeast Nangan coast and drive through it.

Will there be a new treasure hunt each week of Series 2? The Playlist structure rotates a fresh hunt in with each season, so Autumn, Winter and Spring should each bring their own. The Summer one is Nangan, and it is live now through June 25.

Grab the Nangan chest while the Summer week is still up. It is 100,000 credits and 3 points for about two minutes of driving, which is the best return on the board this week.
